What is the ASVAB?

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a timed, multi-aptitude test used by the military to evaluate your skills and determine your suitability for various military roles. Achieving a higher score broadens your options, providing access to more specialized roles and potential bonuses.

Your ASVAB results not only help determine the best service branch for you but also suggest military jobs you may be eligible for after completing basic training or boot camp. Scoring well opens the door to a wide range of opportunities, so it's important to prepare well.

Prepare for Success

To perform your best on the ASVAB, start studying at least two months before the test date. Southside High School offers the ASVAB once each semester. Maximize your preparation by using practice tests and study guides, helping to improve your scores and expand your career options within the military.
